Children under 5 and their parents/caretakers meet in our interactive Discovery Garden for early childhood enrichment, free play, garden exploration, and guided learning through craft, song, and other group activities.
Ages 5 to 10
Vue Crew
Students will spend their Saturdays learning about gardening techniques, making nature-based art, and exploring their connection to the natural world. Each meeting will have a seasonal theme.
Discovery Garden Camps
Students ages 5 to 10 can spend their exploring the wonders of nature at Longue Vue.

Ages 11 to 16
Junior Curators
Become a part of our Junior Volunteer Program! Every first Sunday during Free Family Sunday (11:00AM – 4:00PM), and for one week in both June and July (9:00AM-3:00PM). Volunteers ages 11-16 serve as greeters and tour guides, sharing Longue Vue’s rich history with guests. This is a wonderful opportunity to develop communication skills, engage with visitors, and become a key source of information about our legacy and mission.

Girl Scouts
Girl Scout Workshops are back in our Education Center and Discovery Garden! Our curriculum caters to nature-themed badges across all levels of scouting. All necessary materials are included in the event fee.

Bring your school group to visit Longue Vue! We offer House and Garden Tours at a discounted rate for student groups. Field Trips are customizable, depending on the age, interests, and size of the group.

Every birthday at Longue Vue includes personal touches and surprise activities. Select your format below and work with your event host to customize your celebration.
Garden Birthdays
Garden Birthdays at Longue Vue feature exclusive access to the Lath House, complimentary seed packets, full-day admission to the gardens, and a personal birthday host. Garden Birthday Parties are available Saturdays and Sundays at 10AM and 2PM. Guests of all ages can enjoy the unique beauty and outdoor fun in the half-acre children’s Discovery Garden. Garden Birthdays are two hours, with 60 minutes of set up before the event and 30 minutes to clean up afterwards. Up to 35 guests, including children and their parents, can attend a Garden Birthday. Self-led activities in the Discovery Garden include push/pull toys, digging for worms, watering cans, jumbo lawn games, or hula hoops. Our team will work with you to select the right activities for your party. Your Longue Vue Birthday Host will also facilitate one enrichment activity of your choosing. Examples include: garden-themed craft, potted plant activity, story time, and garden scavenger hunt. Price for a two-hour garden birthday celebration is $450. For members at the Emma Membership Level or higher, the price is $400.

Birthday Tea
Birthday teas at Longue Vue feature child-friendly tea service, with light bites and desserts served on tiered trays and accompanied by signature iced or warm tea and other beverage options. Birthday Tea Parties are available Saturdays and Sundays at 10AM and 2PM. Guests of all ages can enjoy the unique beauty and outdoor fun in the half-acre children’s Discovery Garden. Up to 30 guests, including children and their parents, can attend a Birthday Tea. Exclusive use of the Discovery Garden, Lath House or other selected party space for 2 hours A dedicated Longue Vue birthday host to serve tea and support other needs Tiered tea service, including a variety of sweet and savory treats, choice of iced or warm teas, and all service supplies Full-day admission to the gardens for you and your guests Price for a two-hour birthday tea celebration is $675. For members at the Emma Membership Level or higher, the price is $625.

Does Longue Vue provide Birthday cake?
Longue Vue does not provide a cake; parents are welcome to bring a cake. Individualized treats may also be ordered in advance from Edith & Edgar’s Museum Cafe.
What is Longue Vue's Birthday party cancellation policy?
Reservations are non-refundable. One complimentary reschedule is included in the reservation. Subsequent reschedule requests are subject to a $25 administrative fee.
Please note that the cancellation and reschedule policy will not be amended based on weather, other than in the event of severe weather requiring the entire Longue Vue site to close, in which case a full refund or complimentary reschedule will be granted. In the event of rain or other inclement weather that does not require a site closure, Longue Vue will make interior space (the Education Center) available, at no additional charge.
